KOMPAS.TV - Pelatih Timnas Indonesia U-23, Gerald Vanenburg, melontarkan kritik tajam terhadap regulasi baru Super League terkait waktu bermain pemain U-23 yang dibatasi oleh kuota 11 pemain asing.
Aturan baru dikeluarkan I-League terkait pemain Timnas U-23 dan kuota pemain asing. I-League menerapkan regulasi bahwa dalam satu tim harus mendaftarkan lima pemain Timnas U-23, dan salah satunya wajib bermain minimal 45 menit setiap laga.
Selain itu, kuota pemain asing diperbanyak menjadi 11 personel. Dari total ini, delapan pemain asing diperbolehkan masuk dalam daftar susunan pemain saat pertandingan, sementara tiga lainnya harus menepi.
Pelatih Timnas Indonesia U-23, Gerald Vanenburg, menyebut aturan ini bertentangan dengan pengembangan pemain muda, yang seharusnya mendapat kesempatan untuk berkembang di liga.
