Kericuhan terjadi saat Ketia DPD La Nyalla Mattalitti membacakan rancangan perubahan tata tertib yang telah dikerjakan oleh Panitia Khusus Tata Tertib maupun Timja Tata Tertib.
Adapun tata tertib itu terkait dasar hukum sistem paket pimpinan untuk pemilihan pimpinan DPD RI periode 2024-2029. Kericuhan terjadi karena interupsi dari sejumlah anggota DPD tidak direspons oleh La Nyalla.
Anggota DPD pun berusaha merebut palu sidang namun berhasil diamankan oleh La Nyalla.
