Tambang Nikel di Raja Ampat, Menteri LH: Pencemaran Tak Serius
Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Hanif Faisol mengklaim kegiatan tambang di kawasan Raja Ampat, Papua Barat daya tak berdampak terlalu serius terhadap lingkungan. Namun Kementerian LH mengingatkan pencemaran tambang di Raja Ampat akan merusak biodiversitas kawasan pulau kecil.Menurut Hanif tambang garapan PT GAG Nikel, anak perusahaan PT Antam relatif memenuhi kaidah tata lingkungan.
Saat konferensi pers Minggu siang, Hanif mengaku dirinya belum terjun langsung untuk mengecek sejumlah lokasi tambang yang dinilai merusak kawasan Raja Ampat, Papua Barat daya.
Namun tim dari kementeriannya sudah melakukan peninjauan dan menyimpulkan minimnya tingkat pencemaran lingkungan dari PT GN Nikel selaku anak perusahaan PT Antam.
KLH mencatat luas area penambangan yang dikuasai PT GN Nikel di pulau GAG mencapai 6.030 hektare. Sedangkan luas tambang yang dipantau citra satelit dan drone LH sekitar 187,87 hektare.
Dari hasil tersebut, Hanif meyakini anak perusahaan PT Antam tersebut sudah mentaati peraturan yang berlaku.
Hanif juga menekankan seluruh urusan teknis telah dipenuhi PT GAG Nikel yang meliputi izin usaha tambang, sampai persetujuan pinjam lahan.
