Non è un fatto di poco conto: l'accesso alla stampa internazionale a Gaza è vietato e bloccato dalle autorità israeliane dal 7 ottobre 2023, fatta eccezione per rari casi in cui il giornalista è vincolato alla scorta dell'esercito israeliano. In questo caso il servizio lo firma Giovan Battista Brunori, corrispondente responsabile dell'Ufficio Rai per il Medio Oriente, che ha raccontato il suo reportage al Riformista.
"Il problema principale è la selezione delle notizie. Non solo tra vere e false. Un giornale deve scegliere cosa raccontare". Così risponde Battista alla domanda su una eventuale distorsione mediatica del conflitto. "Con la macchina comunicativa, Hamas è riuscita a “mostrificare” Israele. È riuscita a far oscurare le sue responsabilità nello scatenamento della guerra e nell’opprimere la popolazione palestinese". Come si difende l'informazione? "Contestualizzando".
Nel servizio andato in onda il focus è dedicato ai tunnel di Hamas.
