El presidente chino, Xi Jinping, ofreció un banquete en el Gran Palacio del Pueblo, en Beijing, para dar la bienvenida al presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, quien se encuentra de visita de Estado en China.En el discurso que pronunció en el banquete de bienvenida al presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, el mandatario chino, Xi Jinping, aseguró que la relación entre China y Estados Unidos es la relación bilateral más importante del mundo actual. Xi añadió que ambos países tienen todo que ganar con la cooperación y todo que perder con la confrontación.
Asimismo, afirmó que la clave para que la relación pueda avanzar de manera firme es si son capaces de mantener el respeto mutuo, la coexistencia pacífica y la cooperación beneficiosa para ambas partes. Señaló que estas relaciones afectan al bienestar de los más de 1.700 millones de habitantes de ambos países y a los intereses de los más de 8.000 millones de personas del mundo.
A su vez, Trump destacó que se habían mantenido conversaciones positivas y constructivas.
