Puan juga menegaskan agar anggota DPR jangan alergi terhadap kritik yang disampaikan masyarakat.
Pernyataan itu disampaikannya dalam agenda Laporan Kinerja DPR RI Tahun Sidang 2024-2025 saat rapat paripurna khusus yang berlangsung di Gedung Nusantara II Kompleks Parlemen, Senayan, Jakarta, Kamis (2/10).
Dalam agenda itu, menurut Puan, sejarah tidak mencatat jumlah undang-undang yang disahkan DPR, ataupun besarnya anggaran yang dikelola parlemen.
Namun, ia menyebut sejarah akan mencatat kinerja-kinerja DPR yang pro-rakyat untuk kesejahteraan rakyat.
Puan juga mengingatkan, amanat yang diemban anggota DPR bukanlah hak istimewa.
Namun, hal itu adalah tanggung jawab yang menuntut dedikasi untuk bekerja bagi kepentingan rakyat.
