Nel sud Italia si moltiplicano le proteste contro il caro carburanti, l'inflazione corre ed erode i salari e le risorse pubbliche per contenere il caro energia sembrano finite. È in questo contesto che dal 28 settembre scorso è stato introdotto un price cap sui carburanti, un tetto ai prezzi stabilito dalle grandi major petrolifere. Si è così inaugurata una nuova fase economica: la politica energetica sui carburanti non è più prerogativa dello Stato ma dei grandi gruppi petroliferi, dalla partecipata Eni ai privati internazionali. Un meccanismo in cui si moltiplicano presunte pratiche scorrette, la concorrenza viene falsata, i controlli appaiono assenti e gli interessi miliardari dei grandi gruppi rischiano di imporsi su tutto il mercato.
