As the Trump administration tightens immigration rules, China is doing the opposite. The Chinese Communist Party just launched the K-Visa, a new program meant to lure foreign STEM graduates to China with job opportunities and easy entry requirements.

But while the CCP hopes this will help it surpass the US technologically, it’s infuriated China’s own young people—who are already facing record unemployment and see the K-Visa as an insult.

On Chinese social media, millions are asking why the government is recruiting foreigners when millions of Chinese graduates can’t find work. Critics also question whether the program favors foreign degrees over domestic ones, revealing how little confidence many have left in China’s system.

Chris Chappell explains why the K-Visa might actually deepen China’s internal crisis, how the CCP’s lack of transparency fuels resentment, and why angry young citizens could become the Party’s biggest threat yet.
