We’ve got our hands on three second-hand SUVs, each valued at less than £2,000, and we’re going to see whether they can survive over a series of off-road challenges!

We’ve got a Land Rover Discovery 3 from 2005, a Mercedes ML from 2005, and a Toyota Land Cruiser from 2002!

But will they be able to survive these extreme off-road challenges?! Let’s see what each car is working with…

Starting with the Discovery 3, it’s powered by a 2.7-litre V6 that produces 190hp and 440Nm. It’s equipped with a 6-speed manual and weighs 2,419kg. It was first released in 2005, we bought it for £1,500, and it currently has 256,000 miles on the clock.

Up next is the Mercedes ML. There’s a 2.7-litre inline-5 turbo diesel under the bonnet, and this produces 163hp and 400Nm. It’s equipped with a 5-speed automatic gearbox, weighs around 2,100kg, and was released in 2005. We bought it for £1,800, and it has 140,000 miles on the clock.

Finally, we come to the Land Cruiser. It’s powered by a 4.7-litre V8, and this puts down 235hp and 434Nm. It rolls up with a 4-speed automatic gearbox, and it weighs 2,260kg. It was originally released in 2002, and although it was originally bought for £5,000, it’s only worth around £2,000 now. To date, it’s run around 282,000 miles.

So which do you think will come out on top? And more importantly, will any of the cars even make it to the end of this video?! Stick with Mat, Sam & Nick to see for yourself! Receive SMS online on sms24.me
