RAF-Mitbegründer und Holocaust-Leugner Horst Mahler gestorben

Der Holocaust-Leugner Horst Mahler ist im Alter von 89 Jahren gestorben. Das bestätigte sein Rechtsanwalt Jan Dollwetzel. Mahler war Mitbegründer der linksextremistischen Rote Armee Fraktion (RAF). In den 1990er-Jahren sorgte er mit seinem Wechsel ins rechtsextreme Lager für Aufsehen. Er wandelte sich vom linken Rechtsanwalt zum Neonazi und bekannten Holocaust-Leugner. Er vertrat die NPD als Anwalt im ersten Verbotsverfahren vor dem Bundesverfassungsgericht.

Mehrfach wurde der Jurist von deutschen Gerichten verurteilt – zuletzt vom Landgericht Potsdam. Seit 2009 verbüßte er in der Justizvollzugsanstalt Brandenburg/Havel zwei Gesamtstrafen in Höhe von insgesamt zehn Jahren und zwei Monaten Haft wegen Volksverhetzung und Holocaust-Leugnung. Im Oktober 2020 wurde er aus dem Gefängnis entlassen.
