India’s BrahMos and Astra missiles may now face a new risk. In July 2026, Indonesia signed a ~$630 million deal to buy India’s BrahMos supersonic cruise missile and Astra air-to-air missile. Just three months later, on 21 October 2026, Jakarta signed the Badr MoU in Doha with Pakistan, Turkey and Qatar. The Badr Pact is a defence-industrial pact for joint weapons production, military training and R&D.
So can India’s sensitive missile technology leak to Pakistan through Indonesia? And is this part of a bigger plan by Pakistan to build a web of military pacts, from the Saudi defence deal to the Mecca Pact and now Badr?
