Dikutip dari Al Mayadeen, peluncuran satelit terbaru ini berlangsung pada Jumat (25/7).
Satelit Nahid-2 dilaporkan berhasil memasuki orbit pada ketinggian 500 kilometer di atas permukaan Bumi.
Misi ini merupakan bagian dari peluncuran multi-satelit dan membawa satelit Rusia serta 18 satelit lainnya dari berbagai negara.
Satelit Nahid-2 dikabarkan memiliki bobot sekira 110 kilogram dan dirancang untuk bertahan di orbit selama lima tahun.
Adapun fitur unggulan satelit ini adalah sistem propulsi internal hasil rekayasa para ilmuwan Iran.
Keberhasilan peluncuran Nahid-2 mencerminkan kemajuan signifikan Iran dalam bidang rekayasa satelit.
Bahkan pencapaian ini memperkuat posisi Iran di orbit rendah Bumi (LEO).
Selain itu, misi ini mendukung ambisi jangka panjang Iran dalam mengembangkan satelit komunikasi.
