IRAN: Trump macht ernst! Schlinge um Mullahs zieht sich zu! USA ziehen Sanktionen-Hammer I WELT LIVEDie USA wollen den Iran mit neuen Sanktionen wirtschaftlich noch weiter isolieren und damit die Führung in Teheran in die Knie zwingen. «Jede Art von wirtschaftlichem Engagement mit diesem mörderischen Regime wird die Verantwortlichen der vollen Macht der USA aussetzen», warnte US-Finanzminister Scott Bessent auf einer Pressekonferenz. Auf die Frage, ob dies auch auf China zutreffe, das als Hauptabnehmer iranischen Öls gilt, sagte Bessent nur, niemand solle Washingtons Entschlossenheit auf die Probe stellen.
Das US-Finanzministerium habe «jeden Knotenpunkt, jeden Vermittler und jedes Netzwerk erfasst, das der Iran für Ölschmuggel und die Umgehung von Sanktionen genutzt hat», sagte Bessent. Es würden Sanktionen gegen mehr als 60 Organisationen, Personen und Schiffe weltweit verhängt, die es Teherans Führung ermöglichten, Atom- und Raketentechnologie zu beschaffen, Einnahmen aus Ölgeschäften zu erzielen und Cyberoperationen durchzuführen.
USA verlangen sofortiges Handeln
Teams aus dem Finanz-, Außen- und Verteidigungsministerium stünden mit ihren Partnern weltweit in Kontakt, um deutlich zu machen, dass die USA sofortiges Handeln erwarten, teilte Bessents Ministerium mit. Jedem Land werde ein Zeitrahmen gesetzt, um bestimmte Aktivitäten mit Bezug zum Iran einzustellen. Sollten sie nicht handeln, werde man Maßnahmen ergreifen.
