Si bien las cifras exactas son difíciles de determinar, una mujer que estuvo presa por un aborto espontáneo estimó “que el 90% de las mujeres presas en El Salvador están en la cárcel por esto”, dice Hinojosa.
Hinojosa también advierte que, a partir de la derogación del fallo “Roe contra Wade” y si más estados aprueban legislaciones que prohiben el aborto, Estados Unidos podría terminar teniendo su propia versión de la ley de El Salvador.
