Otaola denuncia colapso sanitario: jóvenes cubanos mueren en silencio
En este fragmento, Alex Otaola expone la tragedia sanitaria que atraviesa Cuba, a partir de la muerte reciente de jóvenes que no encontraron atención médica adecuada en un sistema colapsado. El caso que más destaca es el de Isel Díaz Vera, un joven de Punta Alegre, en Ciego de Ávila, que murió tras varios días en terapia intensiva. Su familia asegura que falleció por complicaciones respiratorias vinculadas a un virus en medio del repunte de arbovirosis que golpea a la Isla.Otaola denuncia que estas muertes dejan en evidencia que el “virus” no es el único asesino: también lo es un sistema médico devastado, carente de medicamentos, insumos, especialistas y condiciones mínimas. Mientras en Cuba se reportan cifras oficiales de dengue, chikunguña, zika, oropouche e incluso H1N1, el activista asegura que esas cifras son apenas una fracción de la realidad. La crisis epidemiológica —advierte— está fuera de control, y los más vulnerables son jóvenes y niños que no tienen a dónde acudir.
El presentador también menciona otro caso ocurrido en el barrio de Santo Suárez, en La Habana, donde un joven apareció muerto en plena calle sin que las autoridades hayan dado explicación clara. Para Otaola, estas tragedias muestran que la estrategia de “no buscar problemas” no protege a nadie: ni a quienes evitan protestar, ni a quienes callan, ni a quienes prefieren quedarse al margen. Su mensaje es tajante: en Cuba se está muriendo gente en silencio, abandonada por un régimen que no salva vidas ni garantiza futuro.
