Bärbel Bas hat überraschend ihren Rücktritt als SPD-Co-Vorsitzende und Bundesarbeitsministerin bekannt gegeben – und das mit sofortiger Wirkung. „Nach dem Tod meiner Stieftochter habe ich festgestellt, dass ich Zeit brauche, um die Trauer zu verarbeiten“, schrieb Bas in einem von der SPD-Spitze verbreiteten Schreiben. Diese Zeit wolle sie sich ausreichend nehmen. „Darüber hinaus muss ich leider feststellen, dass die öffentlichen Angriffe auf mich, leider auch aus den Reihen des Koalitionspartners, in dieser für mich persönlich schwierigen Zeit weiter forciert wurden“, kritisierte sie zugleich.Neuer Minister für Arbeit und Soziales soll nach Informationen des ARD-Hauptstadtstudios der frühere Ministerpräsident von Rheinland-Pfalz, Alexander Schweitzer, werden.
