Outrage over Australia PM Albanese's Joke on Japan PM Takaichi's Melon Gift | Vantage |4K

Australian prime minister Anthony Albanese is in the middle of another controversy. He made a crude joke about Japanese prime minister Sanae Takaichi on a podcast. Nikki Osborne, who plays the role of Bushie in the Bush Deep podcast, interviewed Albanese at his official resident, The Lodge, in Canberra. During the interview, the two spoke about Takaichi's gift of Shizuoka Crown Melons from Japan. And then the host made a quip about Hollywood's Pamela Anderson, which Albanese responded to with an inappropriate gesture. Firstpost explains what happened and the fallout from the incident. The comment was initially overlooked because Albanese also made comments about pop icon Kylie Minogue in the same podcast. But Japan's former ambassador to Australia brought up melon gate this week, giving the opposition parties an opportunity to go after Albanese again.
