Großbrand in Mannheim: 30 Hektar zerstört – 150 Einsatzkräfte im Großeinsatz
Ein großflächiger Flächenbrand hat am Sonntagnachmittag den Mannheimer Stadtteil Friesenheimer Insel erschüttert. Gegen 14:48 Uhr brach das Feuer im Bereich der Diffenestraße / Max-Planck-Straße aus und breitete sich rasant aus.Rund 30 Hektar Feld- und Grünfläche wurden zerstört. Zeitweise waren auch angrenzende Gebäude bedroht. Dank des schnellen Eingreifens der Feuerwehr konnte eine weitere Ausbreitung verhindert werden.
Etwa 150 Einsatzkräfte von Feuerwehr, Rettungsdienst und Polizei waren im Einsatz. Die Nachlöscharbeiten an den Glutnestern dauerten bis in die Nacht an.
Glücklicherweise wurde niemand verletzt.
