Elli dachte lange, Alkohol mache ihr Leben leichter, lustiger und erlebnisreicher. Er war immer da, schon in ihrer Kindheit in der Familie und später in der Jugend mit Freundinnen und Freunden. Partys waren nur gut, wenn man sich betrank. Elli merkte nicht, wie sie tiefer und tiefer in die Sucht rutschte. Sie glaubte lange, sie habe kein Problem. Sie trank immer mehr und konsumierte weitere Drogen. Was sie damals nicht wusste: Sie lief damit auch vor Problemen weg, die aus schlimmen Erfahrungen in ihrer Kindheit resultierten. Lange funktioniert sie im Alltag, baut sich sogar eine eigene Firma auf. Doch irgendwann verlor sie immer mehr die Kontrolle. Heute sagt Elli, das sei ihr "Rock Bottom"-Moment gewesen, ein absoluter Tiefpunkt. Sie feiert eine letzte Party und macht Schluss mit dem Alkohol. Trotzdem dreht sich für sie bis heute viel um dieses Thema.In dieser Folge des Podcasts "Tabubruch" erzählt Elli, wie sie es geschafft hat, dem Alkohol zu entsagen. Wie sie ihre Vergangenheit dafür aufgearbeitet hat und was das für Konsequenzen hatte. Und wie sie versucht, andere Menschen vor dem Alkoholmissbrauch zu bewahren. Denn Elli ist inzwischen Aktivistin und hat die Initiative "Alkoholfreie Kasse" mitgegründet. Für sie ist Alkoholsucht keine persönliche Schwäche, sondern eine lebensgefährliche Erkrankung. Auch heute ist ihr Leben nicht frei von Süchten, nur sind die inzwischen weitaus gesünder.
