Quando Bill De Blasio, ex sindaco di New York, arriva al porto di Napoli e nel grande murale dedicato agli emigranti scorge sua nonna, Anna Briganti, anche la brezza marina si ferma.
La gigantografia in bianco e nero della donna lucana, partita da Napoli durante la grande emigrazione domina dall’alto questo italiamericano autorevole, per due volte sindaco della Grande Mela e, curiosità fisica, anche il più alto primo cittadino di New York. L’emozione continua quando Germana Valentini e Francesco Andoli, curatori del progetto “In sanguine foedus” visionario e lungimirante, lo accompagnano un po’ più avanti, dove il film dei bastimenti disegnato sul muro incontra suo nonno, Giovanni De Blasio, nato a Sant’Agata de’ Goti e partito da Napoli più o meno negli stessi anni della nonna.
Poi brindisi per questo ricongiungimento simbolico e potente, con il presidente dell’autorità portuale Eliseo Cuccaro, l’amico di De Blasio ed ex sindaco di Napoli Luigi de Magistris (con lui per due volte in America, al museo dell’emigrazione di Ellis Island) e tanti portuali che chiedono un selfie al testimone di una grande storia, partita da Napoli e approdata a New York. Con ritorno - emozionato e grato - nel porto dove tutto iniziò.
