Putin mengatakan bahwa Iran belum meminta Rusia untuk membantu menghadapi Israel.
Dikutip dari Viory, hal tersebut disampaikan Putin di sela-sela Forum Ekonomi Internasional di St. Petersburg, Rabu (18/6/2025).
Ia mengaku terus mendorong Iran dan Israel untuk menyelesaikan konflik secara damai.
Saat ditanya bagaimana reaksi Rusia jika Israel membunuh Pemimpin Tertinggi Iran Ali Khamenei, Putin menolak menjawab.
Ia mengatakan, sama sekali tidak ingin membahas kemungkinan tersebut.
"Saya bahkan tidak ingin membahas kemungkinan ini. Saya tidak mau," ucap Putin.
Sebelumnya, Presiden AS Donald Trump sesumbar bahwa pasukannya bisa saja membunuh Khamenei.
Namun, ia memutuskan untuk tidak melakukannya sekarang dan mendesak Iran untuk menyerah tanpa syarat.
Desakan ini kemudian dijawab oleh Khemenei dengan mengatakan bahwa Iran pantang menyerah.
Ia justru mengancam balik AS jika terlibat langsung pertempuran, maka akan dibalas dengan kekuatan dahsyat.
Namun di tengah situasi genting ini, Putin yakin bahwa masyarakat Iran tetap teguh dan setia terhadap pemerintah.
Ia juga menjamin bahwa program nuklir Iran terus berlanjut di bawah tanah, meski beberapa kali diserang Israel lewat udara.
"Pabrik-pabrik bawah tanah ini memang ada, tidak terjadi apa-apa pada mereka," kata Putin.
