Why are Arabs and Asians Disproportionately Influential in Latin America? #History #Latin America

Why are Arabs and Asians disproportionately influential in Latin America? Many individuals of Arab (Syrian, Lebanese, Palestinian), Jewish and other Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) ancestry arrived in Latin America over the past couple centuries with nothing but the clothes on their back wishing to make a better life for themselves. Since then, many from these communities have climbed the ladder to become extremely successful and influential in their home nations, having a disproportionate impact on economics, politics and culture in many Latin American countries, especially Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and many more. Nearly every nation in Latin America has had at least one democratically elected leader of Asian or Middle Eastern ancestry throughout their history including many incumbents such as Nayib Bukele. Most Arab and Asian Latin Americans have converted to Roman Catholicism, leading to a higher degree of assimilation and acceptance among the wider public, although of course there have been many instances of violence and discrimination against them over the generations (it would take far too long to list them all).
