Sono bastati venti minuti di un temporale particolarmente violento per far esondare, a Breuil-Cervinia, in Valle d'Aosta, due torrenti che hanno causato gravi danni al campo da golf a 18 buche. La bomba d'acqua ha provocato una colata di fango e detriti che ha invaso il green e distrutto due ponticelli del percorso. Nelle immagini diffuse sui social dalla pagina Instagram meteovalledaosta si vede il fiume esondare, mentre dalle montagne scendono vere e proprie pareti d'acqua che invadono le aree sottostanti. Per precauzione sono stati evacuati i turisti presenti nell'area camper. Non si registrano persone coinvolte.Sul posto sono intervenuti il Soccorso Alpino Valdostano e i vigili del fuoco. Nella frazione di Avouil è stato allagato il piazzale del Grand Hotel Cervino. Sopra la Capanna Carrel, a 3.850 metri sul versante sud del Cervino, sono caduti fino a 15 centimetri di grandine. L'episodio arriva a pochi giorni dal video pubblicato da Federica Brignone, che mostrava il Cervino quasi completamente privo di neve. Proprio a causa delle temperature elevate e dell'assenza di rigelo notturno, la società svizzera Zermatt Bergbahnen aveva disposto la chiusura anticipata di un mese della stagione dello sci estivo nel comprensorio del Cervino.
