I remember seeing this game a while back and being interested in it. It looked very inspired by Destiny visuals, which is quite prominent in some areas, and in the introduction cutscene too. However, the gameplay is quite different as it's a bullet-hell FPS, and coming off the back of SAROS I was very much looking forward to it. Overall I think it's a pretty decent game, the boss fights are fun but I wasn't completely blown away either. It's just a decent time overall.
The biggest gripes I had was the way the story is delivered. Each story moment "cutscene" is like the one you see in the ending at 36:33 , where it's a floating head on a background with text and you need to manually press space bar to progress to the next line. You often have non-important dialogue choices within these, but it was just really off-putting considering as soon as you start the game and after the initial cutscene it's what you're met with. I wouldn't mind if you didn't need to press space bar to progress after every line is delivered, as is the norm in most cases. But it was very immersion breaking having to manually press it each time a line is delivered, often leaving awkward pauses or guessing if they're finished talking. It made me just spam skip every single dialogue and cutscene just to get through it instead.
The gameplay itself is solid enough, the bosses are the highlight, although a little awkward at times for no damage. There's often occasions where multiple attacks overlap, especially combining a slow arena-covering one with another that tracks your movement. It made each fight feel just a little "off", and I never really got into a flow state that you normally would with these sort of games and no damage. You'd normally feel like you could know everything that was coming and how to handle it, but often at times in this it was a little awkward and hoping you didn't get a bad combo chain. Most bosses also had multiple enemies spawning in the intermission phases. I usually prefer 1v1 boss fights, so I wasn't the biggest fan of those moments either.
Regardless of those points, I still had fun with the game. For the bosses alone it was an enjoyable experience, even if I was completely disconnected from the story.
