Sie kommen aus Sri Lanka, Nigeria oder Usbekistan: Ausländer, die für die russische Armee im Krieg gegen die Ukraine kämpfen. Doch viele von ihnen kämpfen offenbar nicht freiwillig. Nach Berichten werden sie mit vermeintlich attraktiven Jobangeboten nach Russland gelockt und anschließend an die Front geschickt. So erging es auch einem Familienvater aus Sri Lanka: In der Hoffnung auf eine gut bezahlte Arbeit reiste er nach Russland, wenig später fand er sich im Krieg wieder.
