Massa yang tiba di area gedung DPRD Kabupaten Cirebon tiba-tiba merangsek masuk dan melempari kaca dengan batu dan kayu.
Sebelumnya mereka mendatangi Mako Polresta Cirebon, namun lantaran tertutup rapat, massa bergeser ke kantor DPRD.
Seusai massa merangsek masuk, muncullah titik api dari salah satu sisi gedung.
Dalam hitungan menit, api membesar dan menjilat atap.
Warga sekitar bernama Rohman mengatakan, saat kericuhan pecah, warga langsung berhamburan menyelamatkan diri.
Mereka takut api yang membakar gedung DPRD merembet ke bangunan terdekat.
Api dengan cepat melalap perabotan yang ada di dalam gedung disertai kepulan asap tebal hitam.
Petugas pemadam kebakaran yang datang sempat kewalahan menjinakkan api lantaran hembusan angin di lokasi.
Menjelang sore, massa berangsur meninggalkan lokasi seusai melakukan aksi pembakaran dan perusakan.
Saat ini di lokasi hanya tersisa puing-puing bangunan yang porak poranda.
