JAMBI. KOMPAS.TV - Seorang pria yang berhasil mengolah pelepah pinang menjadi benda bernilai ekonomi.Hasil kerajinan yang telah dimulai sejak tahun 2000 ini berupa piring, mangkuk, kotak nasi, dan wadah kue yang ramah lingkungan.
Pelepah pinang yang selama ini dibuang begitu saja, kini diolah menjadi aneka kerajinan yang bernilai ekonomi.
Di tangan Rudi Nata, pelepah pinang diolah menjadi mangkuk, kotak nasi, dan wadah kue yang ramah lingkungan.
Usaha pelepah pinang ini berawal dari riset yang dilakukan oleh seorang dosen di Universitas Jambi.
Setelah melihat produk hasil riset, Rudi merasa termotivasi hingga mendirikan usaha sendiri.
Sejak tahun 2020, Rudi memulai usaha ini yang diberi nama Rumah Jambe-E, dengan delapan karyawan yang membantu proses pembuatan kerajinan dari pelepah pinang.
Pelepah pinang dibeli dari petani dengan harga Rp600 per lembar. Di Rumah Jambe-E, mereka membuat piring, mangkuk, hingga kotak nasi dan wadah kue dari pelepah pinang.
Untuk harga jual mulai dari Rp 2.000 sampai Rp 3.000 per satu unit. Dalam sebulan, Rudi bisa menghasilkan uang mulai Rp 3 juta hingga Rp 5 juta.
Saat ini, semua produk dari Rumah Jambe-E bisa dibeli melalui marketplace dan juga bisa pesan langsung ke rumah produksi Rumah Jambe-E.
