Rạng sáng 14-7 (theo giờ Mỹ), đài CNN dẫn thông báo từ Cục Điều tra Liên bang Mỹ (FBI) rằng cơ quan này xác định Thomas Matthew Crooks là nghi phạm bắn cựu Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump. “FBI đã xác định Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 tuổi, ở Bethel Park, bang Pennsylvania, là đối tượng liên quan vụ ám sát cựu Tổng thống Donald Trump vào ngày 13-7, tại TP Butler, bang Pennsylvania” – tuyên bố của FBI nêu. Trong cuộc họp báo tối 13-7, FBI cho biết nghi phạm bắn ông Trump không mang giấy tờ tùy thân. Điều này đang làm chậm quá trình điều tra. Tại cuộc họp báo, ông Kevin Rojek – đặc vụ FBI phụ trách văn phòng cơ quan này tại TP Pittsburgh, bang Pennsylvania – cho biết FBI đã dùng biện pháp xác nhận sinh trắc học và xét nghiệm DNA để tìm ra nghi phạm.--------------
