Recorded live at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN, on August 20, 2016, this is the live debut of "Hardwired" and, as it turns out, the unofficial kickoff of the entire WorldWired tour. A live clip hit our YouTube channel back in 2016, put together with a quick & dirty audio mix by Mike Gillies and Marcia Kapustin's program cut. It was good enough for the moment, but nowhere near what this song deserves. So, in honor of its 10th Anniversary, we went back and did it right. The audio's been swapped for the live mix featured on the Deluxe Edition of “Hardwired...To Self-Destruct,” with Greg Fidelman's thunderous take that will hit you like a freight train. Jeff Yeager went spelunking into The Metallica Black Box once again, clawing his way to footage from 15 different cameras buried in his tour archive, and Brett Murray took it and ran wild, cranking out an exciting, pulse-racing edit that moves as fast as the song does. Best part: this show went down just a couple of days after “Hardwired” dropped out of nowhere and “Hardwired...To Self-Destruct” got announced, so the crowd is hearing it for the very first time... and you can feel it. No surprise it's one of Spider-Dan's all-time favorites, right up there in his arsenal of rare cuts and live debuts that assault the eardrums of Maximum Metallica listeners on SiriusXM.
