In this video, I discuss why the content of Bitcoin blocks actually matters, using the example of commercial real estate and different kinds of clientele as a metaphor.
Ultimately, we are going to need full Bitcoin blocks, because that's the only way to increase the transaction fees that will compensate mining pools as the block subsidy (currently 3.125 BTC) trends to zero.
If blocks aren't full, you can always bid the minimum 1 sat/vB and still get into the next block. But it really matters what's in those blocks. If those blocks are full of spam rather than monetary transactions, we're going to be left with one giant stinking red light district blockchain.
