In this talk, Dr. Brian Pace cuts through the hype of the so-called “Psychedelic Renaissance,” drawing on his experience as an educator and director at the watchdog organization Psymposia. Dr. Pace examines what medicalization and decriminalization promise and what they risk obscuring, ultimately begging the question: who benefits from the current psychedelic boom, and at what cost?Dr. Brian Pace teaches in the Department of Plant Pathology. His research focuses on how psychedelic experiences interact with ideology and the socio-political context of the so-called psychedelic renaissance.
