Finisce dopo oltre un anno l'incubo di Alberto Trentini, il 46enne veneto, detenuto in Venezuela. Nelle prime ore del mattino del 12 gennaio 2026 il ministro degli Esteri Tajani ha annunciato la sua liberazione e del connazionale Mario Burlò con un post su X. Era il 15 novembre del 2024 quando il cooperante, fu arrestato in Venezuela circa 3 settimane dopo il suo arrivo nel Paese. Trentini lavorava per la ong Humanity & Inclusion, impegnata nell'assistenza umanitaria alle persone con disabilità. Quando è stato fermato si stava recando dalla capitale Caracas a Guasdualito. Da allora è iniziata la sua detenzione nel carcere di El Rodeo.
