WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.TV Mantan Presiden AS, Donald Trump mengecam putusan bersalah atas 34 tuduhan kejahatan terkait pembayaran uang tutup mulut pada 2016 silam.Ditemui usai persidangan, Trump menilai keputusan tersebut "dicurangi dan memalukan", dan mengatakan kepada wartawan "putusan sebenarnya akan dijatuhkan pada tanggal 5 November oleh rakyat.
"Ini memalukan. Ini adalah persidangan yang dicurangi oleh hakim yang berkonflik dan korup serta persidangan yang dicurangi," ujar Trump
Jaksa menuduh Trump memalsukan catatan bisnis internal untuk menutupi pembayaran uang tutup mulut yang terkait dengan dugaan skema untuk mengubur berita yang mungkin menggagalkan pencalonannya sebagai presiden pada tahun 2016.
Tuduhan yang dihadapi Trump terancam hukuman hingga empat tahun penjara. Dia telah membantah semua kesalahannya dan mengaku tidak bersalah.
Kasus ini merupakan kasus pidana pertama terhadap mantan presiden AS.
