UAE Frees Iranian Prisoners, Yemeni Forces Strike Sanaa | WEST ASIA WAR LIVE
The West Asia war is intensifying as the UAE moves to release a number of Iranian prisoners and Yemen’s Saudi-backed government forces launch strikes on Houthi-controlled Sanaa and Saada. Iranian state media reported that several Iranian nationals detained in the UAE will be released and returned to Iran following diplomatic and security efforts, although officials have not disclosed the number or identities of those being freed. Meanwhile, Yemen’s internationally recognised government said its forces were targeting what it called “vital” Houthi military targets in Sanaa and Saada. Reuters reported that the latest strikes mark a major escalation after fighting resumed following years of relative calm. The escalation comes as Saudi Arabia backs Yemeni forces against the Iran-aligned Houthis, with fighting also intensifying around strategically important Taiz and the Red Sea coast.---
