Mattarella "L'astensione preoccupa, sfida per chi crede nella partecipazione"

BOLOGNA (ITALPRESS) - "L'essere termometro della partecipazione civica e, dunque, della fiducia nelle istituzioni della Repubblica, sollecita assicurare che essi siano specchio della volontà popolare, tanto più in un momento di preoccupante flessione dell'esercizio del voto". Lo ha detto il presidente della Repubblica, Sergio Mattarella, nel corso del suo intervento all'assemblea nazionale dell'Anci in corso a Bologna. "Vorrei ripetere di fronte a voi che non possiamo accontentarci di una democrazia a bassa intensità. Questa carenza non potrebbe in alcun modo essere colmata da meccanismi tecnici, che potrebbero, in qualche caso, aggravarla: la rappresentatività è un'altra cosa. La riduzione dell'affluenza alle urne è una sfida per chi crede nel valore della partecipazione democratica dei cittadini. Il motore dei Comuni è chiamato a mettere in circolo energia sociale, economica, culturale" ha aggiunto.
