Die Schule ist nach ihrer Gründerin benannt: Gret Palucca. In den 1920er Jahren gehörte sie zu den Wegbereitern des modernen Tanzes. Mit nur 23 Jahren gründete sie ihre eigene Tanzschule in Dresden. 100 Jahre später - ist die Palucca-Schule eine internationale Spitzenadresse für den Traum, das Leben zu tanzen. Ein Ausbildungs-Tempel für künftige Stars auf den größten Tanzbühnen der Welt. Fast 200 Schüler und Studenten aus der ganzen Welt lernen hier.
Der Film „Die Welt tanzt in Dresden“ begleitet Schüler, Studenten und Lehrer durch das 100. Jahr an der Palucca-Schule.
