El presidente libanés pide el fin de la ocupación israelí en el sur del Líbano
Joseph Aoun, presidente libanés, declaró el 23 de junio, tras analizar la última ronda de negociaciones entre el Líbano e Israel, organizada por Estados Unidos en Washington, que su país no aceptará nada menos que el fin de la ocupación israelí de su territorio. El presidente también habló por teléfono con el vicepresidente de Estados Unidos, J. D. Vance, y con el secretario de Estado, Marco Rubio.Según un comunicado de la presidencia del Líbano, funcionarios estadounidenses reafirmaron su apoyo a la extensión de la autoridad estatal libanesa en todo el territorio y al fortalecimiento de la soberanía a través del ejército y las fuerzas de seguridad. También se discutió un mecanismo propuesto en el que participarían Estados Unidos, Líbano e Irán para ayudar a consolidar el alto el fuego y supervisar su implementación.
