Middle East update: Trump announces ‘double sided ceasefire’ with Iran

We are learning more tonight after President Donald Trump shared on social media that he has agreed to "suspend the bombing and attack of Iran" for two weeks. The news comes after Trump said he had a conversation with Pakistan's prime minister as talks of a ceasefire are reportedly set to continue. We are also hearing that Iran's Supreme National Security Council said it has accepted the two-week ceasefire proposal. LiveNOW’s Andy Mac is speaking with Tom Karako, the director of the Missile Defense Project, after President Trump previously threatened Iranian power plants and bridges.

"Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE!"
