در شرایطی که فشارهای اقتصادی بر تمامی اقشار جامعه ایران سایه افکنده و بخش قابل توجهی از طبقه متوسط نیز با دشواریهای معیشتی روبهرو شده، پرسشی بنیادی و راهبردی مطرح میشود: طبقه متوسط در ایران، با ضعف اقتصادی و محدودیت منابع، چگونه میتواند در معادلات سیاسی و اجتماعی نقشآفرینی کند و تا چه حد حضور و غیاب آن میتواند بر مشروعیت حکومتها و روند نوسازی جامعه تأثیرگذار باشد؟ این پرسش را در قالب مناظرهای با شجاعیزند که معتقد است در ایران اساسا طبقات شکل نگرفتهاند و آزاد ارمکی که معتقد است طبقه متوسط نجات بخش جامعه ایران است، مطرح کردیم.

A debate on the role of the middle class in political and social equations, published by Khabar Online
With the participation of:
▪️ Taghi Azad Armaki, Professor of Sociology at the University of Tehran
▪️ Alireza Shojaei-Zand, Lecturer at Tarbiat Modares University
At a time when economic pressures have cast a shadow over all segments of Iranian society, and a significant portion of the middle class is facing livelihood hardships, a fundamental and strategic question arises: How can Iran’s middle class, amid economic weakness and limited resources, play a role in political and social equations? To what extent can its presence or absence influence the legitimacy of governments and the trajectory of societal modernization?
We posed this question in the form of a debate with Shajaei-Zand, who argues that social classes have essentially not taken shape in Iran, and Azad Armaki, who maintains that the middle class is the savior of Iranian society.
