Langkah ini diambil untuk menjawab keraguan sejumlah pihak terhadap hasil penyelidikan Bareskrim Polri terkait keaslian ijazah Jokowi.
Ia menegaskan bahwa Polri tetap bekerja secara profesional dan terbuka dalam menangani laporan tersebut.
Dikutip dari Kompas.com, hal itu disampaikan Jenderal Sigit saat ditemui di depan Markas Besar Polri, Jakarta, Kamis (12/6/2025).
“Polri akan bekerja profesional dan transparan, kami libatkan pihak eksternal agar proses ini akuntabel,” ujarnya.
Menurutnya, pelibatan eksternal untuk memastikan proses berjalan profesional dan transparan.
Pengawas eksternal akan diberi akses untuk menguji dan mengevaluasi langkah-langkah Polri selama proses penyelidikan.
Bahkan Kapolri berharap kehadiran pengawas eksternal dapat memperkuat kredibilitas hasil penyelidikan terkait ijazah Jokowi.
“Nantinya bisa diuji oleh pihak luar agar langkah Polri dapat dipertanggungjawabkan secara objektif,” tambahnya.
Diberitakan sebelumnya, Bareskrim Polri menyatakan bahwa penyelidikan dugaan ijazah palsu milik Jokowi telah dihentikan.
Direktur Tindak Pidana Umum, Brigjen Djuhandhani Rahardjo, mengatakan hasil uji laboratorium forensik menunjukkan ijazah Jokowi identik dengan milik rekan seangkatannya.
Kesimpulan tersebut menyatakan tidak ditemukan unsur pidana dalam perkara yang dilaporkan.
Dengan hasil itu, Bareskrim resmi menghentikan proses penyelidikan terhadap dugaan ijazah palsu Jokowi.
