La GUERRA del EMU - La gran derrota humana

En 1932, Australia tuvo un problemilla bastante peculiar: miles y miles de emús comenzaron a arrasar los cultivos de los agricultores del oeste del país. Y la solución que se les ocurrió fue absolutamente maravillosa: mandar al ejército con ametralladoras.

Sí. Soldados armados hasta los dientes contra unos pájaros gigantes que corren como si debieran dinero.

Así comenzó lo que acabaría pasando a la historia como la Guerra de los Emús, uno de los episodios más surrealistas de la historia militar. Lo que parecía una operación relativamente sencilla empezó a torcerse cuando descubrieron que cargarse a miles de animales rápidos, dispersos y bastante resistentes era muchísimo más complicado de lo esperado.

En este vídeo vamos a ver por qué Australia terminó recurriendo al ejército, cómo organizaron la operación, qué ocurrió cuando empezaron a disparar y por qué aquellos emús acabaron convirtiéndose en auténticas leyendas.
