นพ.วรงค์ เดชกิจวิกรม ส.ส.บัญชีรายชื่อ พรรคไทยภักดี กล่าวในที่ประชุมสภาผู้แทนราษฎร เสนอแนวทางการทำงานของ ส.ส. ในวาระเลือกประธานสภาผู้แทนราษฎร ระบุว่า วันนี้เป็นการเริ่มต้นทำงานร่วมกัน ประชาชนไม่สบายใจ เพราะ ส.ส.ทุกคนมีเงินเดือนกิน 113,560 บาท ทำไมต้องเอาภาษีประชาชนไปเลี้ยงอาหารกลางวัน ส.ส. ทำไม ส.ส.ไม่ซื้อหากินเอง ตนไปสืบข้อมูลของสภาประเทศต่างๆ ปรากฏว่าหลายประเทศ ส.ส.ต้องซื้ออาหารกินเอง จึงขอฝากไปยังประธานสภาผู้แทนราษฎร เพราะเป็นภาพลักษณ์ ส.ส. ถ้าตัดสินใจในสิ่งที่ถูกต้อง เชื่อว่าประชาชนจะยอมรับมากขึ้นประเด็นที่สอง วันนี้มีผู้ช่วย ส.ส. 8 คน ไปดูหลายประเทศจะมีผู้ช่วย ส.ส.เพียงแค่ 1-2 คน หรือ 3 คน ประชาชนมองว่าสภาฯ ใช้จ่ายงบประมาณฟุ่มเฟือยมากเกินไป และยังทราบว่ามีการเพิ่มเงินเดือนจาก 15,000 บาท เป็น 18,000 บาท ถ้าลดผู้ช่วย ส.ส.เหลือ 3 คน จะประหยัดงบประมาณปีละ 540 ล้านบาท และประเด็นที่สาม กองทุนบำนาญ ส.ส. ฝากประธานสภาผู้แทนราษฎรคนใหม่และประธานรัฐสภาได้พิจารณา เพราะกินภาษีประชาชน
