PRO-PALÄSTINA-DEMO ESKALIERT: Schwere Ausschreitungen vor Israels WM-Qualifikationsspiel in Italien!Eine pro-palästinensische Demonstration führte vor dem WM-Qualifikationsspiel zwischen Italien und Israel zu schweren Ausschreitungen. In der norditalienischen Stadt Udine, wo das Fußballspiel stattfand, kam es zu Zusammenstößen zwischen Demonstranten und der Polizei. An dem Protestzug nahmen mehr als 5000 Menschen teil. Die Demo verlief zunächst weitgehend friedlich. Am Ende des Marsches warfen dann aber einige Teilnehmer Feuerwerkskörper und Absperrgitter auf die Bereitschaftspolizisten. Diese setzten dann daraufhin Wasserwerfer und Tränengas ein. Die Organisatoren der Demonstration forderten den Fußball-Weltverband FIFA auf, Israel von allen Wettbewerben auszuschließen. Die örtlichen Behörden hatten im Vorfeld massive Sicherheitsvorkehrungen getroffen.
