Sofian mengakui ada goncangan di kampus UGGM hingga munculnya ancaman pelaporan dari penggemar Jokowi.
Prof Sofian mengatakan bahwa dirinya tahu ada surat dari kelompok penggemar Jokowi yang diunggah di media online.
Linl dari media online itu ia dapat dari kirim pesan WhastApp mantan mahasiswanya.
Ia menilai para pendukung Jokowi merasa gerah karena dirinya membongkar habis kuliah Presiden ke-7 RI.
Hingga akhirnya Jokowi Lovers mengancam akan melaporkan Sofian kepada Bareskrim Polri karena dianggap menyebarkan fitnah.
Oleh karena itu, Sofian pun meminta maaf dan memilih mencabut ucapannya terkait polemik ijazah Jokowi.
Sebab Sofian enggan berurusan dengan polisi, terlebih dirinya sudah berusia 80 tahun.
Sebelumya diberitakan, Sofian menyebut Jokowi tidak memiliki ijazah S1 dari Fakultas Kehutanan UGM.
Menurutnya, hal itu dibuktikan dengan skripsi Jokowi yang tidak pernah disidangkan serta indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) yang tidak mencapai batas minimal kelulusan.
Secara terpisah, UGM telah memberi pernyataan resminya untuk membantah ucapan Sofian terkait ijazah Jokowi.
UGM menyesalkan adanya pihak-pihak yang menggiring oponi keliru dan tidak berdasar.
UGM kembali menegaskan bahwa Jokowi adalah alumnus Fakultas Kehutanan UGM, yang dinyatakan lulus pada 5 November 1985 setelah menempuh proses studi sejak tahun 1980.
