Não há a menor dúvida de que estes radares de velocidade, ou os chamados pardais, que são pendurados aí pelas ruas, avenidas e estradas, muitas vezes são uma verdadeira indústria da multa.Porém, há também aqueles que são instalados de forma correta e consciente depois de estudos técnicos. Normalmente esses relatórios determinam a adequação dos pontos onde os equipamentos serão estabelecidos para reduzir a velocidade dos carros no trecho e o número de acidentes naquele local.
Por essa razão foi difícil de entender a atitude do novo prefeito de Marília, no interior de São Paulo. O chefe do município simplesmente eliminou todos os 18 radares da cidade e num espetáculo cênico cortou o cabo de energia de um deles com alicate. O prefeito ainda afirmou que ações educativas terão muito melhor efeito para o controle da velocidade do que os radares. Será?
