Meski keputusan akhir berada di tangan Dewan Keamanan Nasional Tertinggi Iran.
Selat Hormuz merupakan salah satu jalur perdagangan minyak mentah utama di dunia.
Yakni bisa mencapai 20 sampai 30 persen pasokan minyak dunia.
Jalur ini juga menentukan kelancaran distribusi dari 20 persen gas alam cair dunia.
Jika penutupan benar-benar dilakukan, maka harga minyak dunia diproyeksikan meroket.
