Mat’s about to get his hands on a Pagani Utopia Roadster!
He’s had his hands on a Pagani in a drag race before, but he’s never had the chance to get behind the wheel of one on the open road. However, that’s about to change!
He’s over in Modena at the Pagani factory, and he’s about to see what it’s like to drive a €3,100,000 hypercar through the Italian hills! So let’s take a closer look at the car he’ll be driving…
From the outside, this Pagani screams power and performance. Up front there’s an absolutely huge opening in the bumper to help cool the engine, and there are vents on either side of the wide wheel arches. The headlights also have a very distinct design, which is actually inspired by classic cars and Vespas from the 1960s! There’s also the single windscreen wiper, which is synonymous with Paganis. Around the back, the Utopia Roadster has incredible presence, with the ceramic-coated quad tailpipes sitting in the centre of the rear end. There’s also a large wing with active aero. But what’s most surprising is that a car with so much power has a completely flat bottom - no aggressive-looking diffuser to be found here!
Step inside and the Pagani is incredibly well built. Any bit of metal you see is milled aluminium, and any area not covered in metal is likely lined in leather. There are analogue dials for the driver, and a small digital screen in-between each dial to manage the infotainment system. That means that the centre console and dash are completely bereft of screens, instead including more dials and a host of physical switches!
The Pagani Utopia Roadster is powered by a 6-litre twin-turbo V12 that delivers 864hp and 1,100Nm of torque. It’s an AMG engine that revs to 6,500RPM, and the power is delivered to the rear wheels only via a 7-speed manual gearbox. In terms of weight, it tips the scales at only 1,280kg dry.
So the Utopia Roadster starts from €3,100,000, but once you add several options, the price will skyrocket. So is it worth it? Or would you choose a Koenigsegg or Bugatti instead? Let us know in the comments! Receive SMS online on sms24.me
