Sidang isbat ini akan digelar di Kementerian Agama, Jakarta Pusat dan dipimpin langsung oleh Menteri Agama Nasaruddin Umar.
Sejumlah pihak termasuk perwakilan ormas Islam, BMKG, ahli falak hingga perwakilan lembaga tinggi akan turut hadir.
Dalam sidang isbat, akan ada tiga rangkaian yang dilakukan.
Pertama adalah pemaparan data posisi hilal berdasarkan perhitungan astronomi.
Kedua, verifikasi hasil rukyatul hilal dari berbagai titik pemantauan di Indonesia.
Ketiga, musyawarah dan pengambilan keputusan yang akan diumumkan pada publik.
Meski pemerintah baru akan menggelar sidang isbat pada nanti malam, namun Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah sudah menetapkan awal Ramadan 1446 H yang akan jatuh pada Sabtu (1/3/2025).
Keputusan dari Muhammadiyah ini berlandaskan perhitungan ijtimak berdasarkan data astronomi global.
Sementara itu, peneliti astronomi dari BRIN, Prof Thomas Djamaluddin mengatakan, bahwa secara astronomis, posisi hilal belum memenuhi kriteria di sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia.
Adapun kriteria yang dimaksud adalah Menteri Agama Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapura (MABIMS) yang disepakati tahun 2021.
Yaitu tinggi bulan mencapai tiga derajat, elongasi 6,4 derajat;dan umur bulan mencapai delapan jam.
Sehingga ada kemungkinan perbedaan awal Ramadhan 1446 H.
Namun, hal ini harus dikonfirmasi dalam pengamatan langsung atau rukyatul hilal pada Jumat (28/2).
