MEKKAH, KOMPAS.TV - Konsulat Jenderal RI Jeddah, Yusron Ambary merespon video penangkapan jemaah haji ilegal di Mekkah, Arab Saudi.KJRI masih mengecek apakah ada WNI yang turut terjaring.
Sebelumnya, heboh video yang memperlihatkan kamar kamar WNI yang kosong dan pemeriksaan bus diduga terkena razia aparat keamanan Arab Saudi karena menggunakan visa haji ilegal.
Yusron membenarkan jika aparat keamanan Arab Saudi gencar melakukan razia ke hotel-hotel yang diduga ditempati jemaah haji ilegal.
Aparat keamanan Arab Saudi juga sering menggerebek hotel yang ditempati jemaah haji illegal termasuk jemaah haji ilegal asal Indonesia.
Sejak awal tahun hingga Mei 2024 sudah ada 3.500 WNI yang dideportasi karena pelanggaran keimigrasian.
Salah satunya terkait penggunaan visa haji ilegal.
