Toni rupanya saat kejadian menumpang kapal bersama sang ayah, Eko Sastrio untuk membawa truk tronton muatan semen ke Bali.
Namun sayangnya, Eko meninggal dunia seusai bertahan beberapa jam di tengah laut seusai kapal tenggelam.
Ditemui di rumahnya, Sabtu (5/7), Toni mengatakan, sebelum kapal karam, seluruh penumpang panik dan berlarian mencari pelampung.
Beruntung dirinya dan sang ayah mendapat dua pelampung yang ada di ruang penumpang.
Mesin kapal kala itu mati dan posisi miring, selang tiga menit, kapal tenggelam hingga membuat para penumpang melompat ke laut termasuk Toni dan sang ayah.
Meski sempat bertahan beberapa saat, kondisi Eko kala itu makin melemah hingga meninggal dunia.
Toni pun bertahan kurang lebih lima jam di tengah laut sembari memeluk jenazah sang ayah hingga ditemukan oleh nelayan.
